Pictured below is what Michael and I found on our walk through the wood with Basil.
I’m not surprised that it is known to be one of the finest Bluebell woods in Yorkshire, they were amazing – Bluebell (Hyacinthoides non-scripta).
We came across some white ones that Michael managed to capture brilliantly.
Pale Bramble Rust (Kuehneola uredinis) on Rubus fruticosus stems -Michael’s photograph above and mine below.
Spores angular/ovoid and verrucose.
Bitter Chocolate Rust (Uromyces ficariae) on Lesser Celandine (Ranunculus ficaria).
Teliospores ovoid to irregular with a single apical pore.
A species of Xylaria, probably Candlesnuff Fungus (Xylaria hypoxylon) above and below.
Reticularia lycoperdon.
