The Blusher (Amanita rubescens).
Birch Polypore or Razorstrop Fungus (Piptoporus betulinus).
This was our first record of a Piptoporus and Oliver was fascinated by it’s texture, as it was very rubbery and smooth.
An unidentified Coprinus species, growing on dung.
A collection of some of our edible finds of the day. Species included Amethyst Deceiver (Laccaria amethystina), Meadow Waxcap (Hygrocybe pratensis) and a Parrot Waxcap (Hygrocybe psittacina). Photo courtesy of Steve Blacksmith.

Common Earthball (Scleroderma citrinum).
Lastly a really awful photo of maybe a Yellow Club (Clavulinopsis helvola) or possibly Apricot Club (Clavulinopsis luteoalba).
Hi Steve,
Yes it was a good day, the start of our Mycological adventure with yourself and the HSS 😀
Nice photos Alison. I remember having a good day foraying that day as well. Thanks for promoting the Halifax Scientific Society 🙂
