This specimen was identified for us by Peachysteve at Cromwell Wood Sunday 16th February.

The pale wart is the H.glandulosae growing on Witches Butter Exidia glandulosa growing on a dead oak branch lying on the ground.

Below – Rowan timber (Sorbus aucuparia) stained by Green Elfcup, Chlorocibaria aeruginascens,  as used by cabinetmakers and fretwork craftsmen. Found at Barkisland this month.
